Calcium

1 products

Calcium: carbonate, citrate and complexes with vitamin D and magnesium. Calcium per day.

Calcium

Calcium is sold as carbonate (a lot of calcium per gram, taken with food) and citrate (dissolves without food), often together with vitamin D, magnesium and vitamin K. The label states the amount of calcium itself.

Calcium has EU-authorised claims, including maintaining normal bones and teeth; they show on a product from 120 mg a day. Count the calcium from dairy and other supplements.

FAQ

Calcium carbonate or citrate?

Carbonate holds more calcium per gram and is taken with food. Citrate can be taken regardless of meals.

Why are calcium tablets big?

A meaningful dose takes a lot of compound. The dose is often split in two.

Can calcium be taken with iron?

Better at different times: calcium can reduce iron absorption.

Why is calcium paired with vitamin D?

It is a common combination; vitamin D has its own authorised claims, including on calcium absorption.
