Iron

Iron is sold as bisglycinate (usually gentler on the stomach), fumarate and sulphate, often with vitamin C, which under an EU-authorised claim increases iron absorption. The label states the amount of iron itself.

Iron's claims show on a product from 2.1 mg a day. High doses of iron are not worth taking without a confirmed shortage. Keep iron out of reach of children.

FAQ

Which form of iron is gentler on the stomach?

Usually bisglycinate (chelate).

What should iron be taken with?

Vitamin C; tea, coffee, dairy and calcium at another time.

Without a blood test?

We do not advise high doses without a confirmed shortage; ask a doctor.

A small child swallowing adult iron tablets by accident is in danger.

How much iron per tablet?

See the product card: the amount is given as iron itself.
