NOW Foods Policosanol is a food supplement in a vegetable capsule. Each capsule contains 20 mg policosanol (from sugar cane), 100 mg artichoke extract, 100 mg milk thistle extract, 50 mg alpha lipoic acid and 30 mg grape seed extract.
The pack holds 90 capsules. The capsule shell is made from cellulose (hypromellose).
- Five active ingredients in one capsule
Policosanol, artichoke, milk thistle and grape seed extracts and alpha lipoic acid are combined in a single serving.
- Standardised extracts
The artichoke extract contains at least 2% caffeoylquinic acids as cynarins. The milk thistle extract is standardised to 80 mg silymarin flavonoids, equivalent to 80%.
- Cellulose capsule
The shell is hypromellose, a cellulose material. Other ingredients are non-GMO maltodextrin, rice flour, vegetable-source magnesium stearate and silicon dioxide.
- Flexible dosing
The label directs 1 capsule 1 to 2 times daily, preferably with food.

Each capsule contains: policosanol (from sugar cane) 20 mg; artichoke extract (Cynara scolymus, leaf, min. 2% caffeoylquinic acids as cynarins) 100 mg; milk thistle extract (Silybum marianum, fruit/seed, standardised to 80 mg silymarin flavonoids, equivalent to 80%) 100 mg; alpha lipoic acid 50 mg; grape seed extract (Vitis vinifera, standardised for polyphenols) 30 mg. Other ingredients: hypromellose (cellulose capsule), maltodextrin (non-GMO), rice flour, magnesium stearate (vegetable source) and silicon dioxide.
