Osavi Schisandra is a food supplement in a hard capsule. Each capsule holds 550 mg of Schisandra chinensis fruit extract (DER 4:1), made from at least 2200 mg of fruit. The extract is standardised to a minimum of 10% schisandrins, which is 55 mg per capsule.
Schisandrins belong to the lignan group, which are polyphenols. Schisandra grows naturally in the forests of East Asia. There its fruit is called the fruit of five flavours, as it combines sweet, salty, sour, bitter and spicy notes.
