Osavi Norwegian Cod Liver Oil Softgels is a food supplement in softgel form. The oil comes from wild Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua) taken in sustainable fishing. It is produced in Norway by molecular distillation, carries a Friend of the Sea certificate and is made to the GOED monograph.
Each softgel holds 1000 mg of cod liver oil, including 100 mg of DHA and 70 mg of EPA in triglyceride form. It also contains vitamin A and vitamin D3. The flavour is Lemon: a natural lemon flavour is added to soften the fishy aftertaste. The pack holds 90 softgels.
- DHA and EPA as triglycerides
One softgel provides 100 mg of DHA, 70 mg of EPA and 50 mg of other omega-3 acids. The fatty acids are in triglyceride (TG) form.
- Vitamin A and vitamin D3
Each softgel has 270 µg of vitamin A (34% of the nutrient reference value) and 10 µg of vitamin D3 (200% of the nutrient reference value). Vitamin A contributes to the maintenance of normal vision.
- Lemon flavour
A natural lemon flavour is added to reduce the fishy aftertaste typical of cod liver oil.
- Origin and purification
The oil is from wild Atlantic cod and purified in Norway by molecular distillation. The manufacturer follows the GOED monograph.
- Packaging
Bottles are made of rPET (50% recycled plastic) or standard PET, and both are fully recyclable. During the transition the packaging variant may differ.

One softgel contains 1000 mg of cod liver oil, 100 mg of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), 70 mg of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), 50 mg of other omega-3 acids, 270 µg of vitamin A (retinyl palmitate) and 10 µg of vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). Other ingredients: bovine gelatine, glycerol, water, natural lemon flavour, DL-alpha-tocopherol. Nutrition per serving (1 softgel): energy 10 kcal, fat 1 g of which saturates 0.2 g, carbohydrate 0.1 g, protein 0.3 g, sugars 0 g, salt 0 g. Per 100 g: energy 710 kcal, fat 68 g of which saturates 10.2 g, carbohydrate 9.7 g, protein 17.1 g.
